Hello. I am using Holley fuel rails on an LY6 and cannot find a torque value for the fittings at the rail ends. These are the main inlet and outlet fittings with a rubber O ring at the base. None of the Holley instructions list a torque value and I dont want a leak or to over torque the fittings. Anyone have an idea? These guys....
Thank you. I am a little **** though. What a friend of mine termed 'rectally inhibited but not in a sexual way'. Not sure where he was going there but long story short if anyone has a specific torque value it would be great. I tend to crank everything down until it breaks and I don't want to do that here or loosy goose it so i have a fire.
If those are the usual style of O-ring fittings, where the O-ring fits in a groove around the fitting and slides into a bore to create the seal, then at least you don't have to worry about either destroying the O-ring, or leaving a leak, according to how tight it is.
It's not critical at all. Just needs to be tight enough to stay put, but not so tight that it tears anything up. Probably wants to be a little tighter than the hose fitting that will get put onto it but not greatly so. Put a little grease or oil on the ring and the threads. Around 10 - 12 ft-lbs should do the trick.
