Default 90mm TB & 102mm MSD Intake

I'm in the middle of finishing up a Mamo MSD 102mm intall on my c6z and ran into a head scratching scenario I wanted to run by y'all.

I planned to use my stock silver blade 90mm throttle body. During the prep work before install I test fitted the Tb and noticed the gasket not sealing around the edge of the housing, which I initially missed just thinking it was barely sealing. It seems like the gasket just folds over around the edge of the Tb housing.

I searched around thinking there has to be a better way other than running it like this. My old ls2 had a FAST LSXR102mm and stock silver blade 90mm throttle body and it worked perfect.

I can't believe my situation is unique with parts involved being mass produced.

NOT having to purchase a 102mm throttle body would be nice lol

Thanks for any input in advance!

There is, well was, a company that made an adapter to run a 90/92mm TB on a 102 intake. I'm sure a quick Google search would yield some results.

You need to call MSD they have an adapter plate made of aluminum with sticky gasket on one side. The plate is only .060 thick and covers the orange gasket you are talking about and on the other side it is a gasket material for you 90 mm TB to go on. MSD discovered this as they designed the manifold with the gold plate 90 mm TB and the silver 90 mm TB has a slightly different footprint.

This is exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you for the input!

This reminded me that I plan to put an ls3 tb on a fast 102 soon. I checked ebay, because I bought an aluminum adapter before. Ict billet has an adapter for any combo you may think of, including 102tb to 92 intake and 92tb to 102 intake. They're a sponsor on here, I just bought a 92 to 102 adapter, in case I don't like how the 92 tb sits on the 102 intake.

I found what I was looking for from MSD, I must have missed it the few times I was on their site.
I guess my main concern was the added bulk of the ICT with clearance at the waterpump, it's very tight. The MSD part seems like exactly what I was picturing needing. Fingers crossed!

That's what you need. You might need to do a little trimming on the bottom of it to clear the water pump but it does the main thing which is too keep the orange gasket from popping out.
