2.5 vs 3
2.5 vs 3 Good afternoon everyone,
I broke a hangar on my exhaust and unfortunately, I think that might be the last straw for this system.
Car is a g body with an NA LS3/tremec magnum. On the dyno the car made 500/475 at 5900/4xxx to the tire.
Current system is 2.5" with an x pipe and borla pro xs mufflers, exiting behind the rear tires
Now that its time to redo the exhaust, I'm looking for opinions on 2.5" vs 3" pipe. Thank you

If you made 500 to the tire then you are a candidate for a 3 inch system. Typically the cut-off is around 475-500 motor hp. The stock Corvette Z06 with 505 motor HP came with 3 inch exhaust. Are you going to pick up a bazillion HP no, but could be like 10-15 hp or so. The car will be louder too.
