Difference in round(d514a) and square(d510c) type coils

I'm looking to buy a set of coils for my ls2 and I'd like to know if there's any appreciable difference in the d514a round coils or the d510c square coils. I'm running Holley valve covers so the d585's won't work before anyone suggest them. Seems there's a consistent $20 difference in price square being more on Rockauto. Also while on the subject of coils is there any way to test them individually off the engine? I bought a nice clean set from a member here a couple of years ago and wouldn't you guess several are bad(just now started using them). No wonder I got a good deal on them.

I doubt that there is much difference between any of the factory coils. At least not enough to make any noticeable difference on a dyno. Maybe a couple HP.
