I have a truck injector that is missing some "caps". Are these plastic caps necessary, or can I run them without the caps? The bottom one is missing the caps. The top one looks good.
I'm more concerned about the cap that goes into the fuel rail. The cap that goes into the intake manifold looks pointless.
They are both missing the upper O-ring. It came off while removing the injector from the fuel rail. I have a complete set of new O-rings for them. I just wasn't sure what the top cap was or if it was needed.
Maybe I should take a pic of the ends. It's kinda hard to see what I'm talking about looking from the side. I don't see how they affect flow. The are not the metal caps that have the hole in them. The caps I'm talking about are just plastic. I thought the top cap would hold the O-ring in place, but the O-rings still fit a little loose with the cap.
