4” intake with cone air filter

Hi guys

I’ve got a 4” tube with a small cone air filter on my LY6 (ls3 heads with a mild cam)

Do you guys think this air filter be holding back my combo ? I’m limited with room.

the filter / tube set up probaly flows just fine, id be more concerned about the proximity to the heat source its up against. engine masters had a good episode testing tubes/filters and i think the bends made more restriction than any thing else. but again that thing is suckng up hot air for sure.

Looks legit, should be fine, especially if the small end is a reverse cone filter.

It looks like if you redid the upper coolant hose you could straighten the piping and run twice the filter. That little guy going into a Hiram just seems odd. What's your map reading at WOT? That'll tell you.

My concern is breathing hot under hood air. IAT has to be high. Maybe too high...
