LS3 oil pressure port
I've got an LS3 going into a race car replacing a SBC. I've already got the mechanical oil pressure gauge plumbed into the engine bay for the port on the back of the SBC. I see there's a port on the back of the DOD delete valley cover and it appears to connect to an oil line in the block.
I figure this would be where to tap into the oil pressure? I googled it a bit and found a few other ways of doing it but not this... which seemed odd. Or maybe I'm wrong?
Or even cheaper since valley cover off the engine just drill tap for NPT and use what ever reducer to match your current sender. Check to make sure your sender will clear the intake.
If it doesn't I would use the adapter port just above the oil filter.
I get all mine off Amazon. Bought many of them, never had a problem. Oh and the adapter for the 12
12mm to 1/8 NPT coolant port on the head is handy as well.
