Default Changing ignition coils

Feel kind of foolish not knowing the answer to this, but can I change my stock 2008 LY6 coils to the D-580 coils with the reverse facing harness plug?
Just do not know if the E38 computer will like the change or not.
Thanks for your help.

I don't know what those coils are, but I am using an E38 on a set of Gen 5 (2015) coils. Works fine.

D 580 coils are ued on LS 1’s.
It is very important that I can confirm positively that I can make this change. Money on the line.

If you tell me what exact coils you have, I have 3 different kinds here and harnesses for all and could check for you.

Mine don’t have any numbers but they look like D 585
only one that will fit the hidden coil covers I have call for D 580.
Can not find out if I can plug into my E38 computer harness and it will work !
it is a 2008 6.0L LY6
Trying to be positive whether or not it will work, have a few days that I can get a refund on the pricey covers
Really want them, keeping my fingers crossed
Really would appreciate any help from you . At a loss as I don"t know who to ask this question that knows what they are telling me as this CAN BE an expensive mistake that I really can't afford. Still trying to complete this build and install into my Street rod

Thank you for ALL you help and input..

Once again, it is my fault for the mistake!
On much more stringent an examination, I mistakenly thought my coils on my LY6 were D585...WRONG!!!
They seem to match the D514A exactly!!!
So, back to the original question. Will my system operate the D580 coils the same as the D514A coils?
My apologies to you for driving you crazy!
If I owned a sword, I WOULD FALL ON IT!
ALL KIDDING ASIDE, CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS

As far as my research can tell me, the coil connections themselves are identical across generations, so as long as your harness plugs into your coils, THAT is the key. And yes, they should be plug and play with your combination if the harness matches. To clarify: The large white connector is the same for every coil harness. The harness terminations going to the coils are what is different. So yes, it WILL work.

As long as you have the correct subharness, the computer doesn't care.
