Decode ID numbers

Seriously, I have no idea what those electric pencil codes mean. There might be a 1 in front of the 2, though; in which case it might decode to year 12, 34th day, 1:46PM, workstation (or other production asset) 3. Being a pencil code, that would be the date & time that something happened to it, which would have to have been marked AFTER casting and machining. Maybe finish machining? Engine assembly? Vehicle installation? Not sure.
Moving right along...
The second one is a typical GM casting date identification code. It says it was cast in month A (the 1st, January), on the 19th day, in a year ending in 2. Which would be reasonably consistent with an event that only a fully assembled engine (or at least, a fully machined casting) could have experienced, on about Feb 3, 2012 (34th day of 2012), as possibly contained in the code above.
Which largely blows the 07 - 10 supposed "knowledge" out of the water.
What difference does it make? What outcome would change based on whatever information you think you're gonna extract from all that? That is, what decision would you make differently depending on those dates? Would you select a different overbore perhaps? A different camshaft? Would you put it in a different car? Paint the car a different color? What difference does it make? Maybe there's a better way of obtaining useful meaningful helpful ACTIONABLE (capable of influencing actions) information about this block, than dinking around with "codes".
