Default '98 C5 Dead; Zero Juice

This is a first for me. My LS1 is not providing any power to anything. I replaced the battery, but that didn't help. I garaged my C5 for 2 months and then the battery went dead, which I expected. So I jumped it and it fired up after a looong hookup. In the last few months, I have turned the key and got nothing but dead silence. It happened intermittently. Now, it is no longer intermittent. It is DOA.

Where do I start? No radio, no cabin lights, no gauges, no nothing. Even the trunk release did not function. Please note that I replaced the starter motor 5 months ago. I'm hoping there is a simple solution to this, but my problems are never simple. 'Story of my life....

Help.

Check and clean all your battery cable connections, positive and ground. Check cables for corrosion down in the cables as well.

The starter and VATS wont have anything to do with that issue. I would suggest as said above clean and check your cables. Is it possible a rodent got in the garage? They love to wreck havoc on cars.

Thanks gentlemen. I will heed your advice, and I'll doublecheck the terminals and connections. My problems are never this simple, but let's hope this is the exception!

This is something that would probably have better luck in the General Maintenance section or Electrical Section, not the Gen IV Internal Section, C5 Corvette is Gen III.

Basic electronics check for blown fuses.

If you still have the Battery that you replaced and jumped, that Battery is dead. You need a new one.

Ok thanks, but I chose this site because it states "External Engine." So I thought I was in the right place. But yes, gen III is correct.

Update: I will never underestimate the advice given on here. You guys are solid! I scrubbed the terminals and cable leads. Then, the C5 fired up, yay! It's funny, because everything looked clean. But looks aren't everything!
