Default L96 6.0 PCV question..

I've been researching PCV setups with and without catch cans and am overloaded on info but still don't feel like I have clear idea of direction.

I'm planning to run the stock driver valve cover PCV and an unvented catch can.
Most all solutions I find reference to for catch-can systems refer to a TB connection but I have no barbs on this stock L96 TB.
This is not a high performance setup, merely a stage 2 cam swap into a 1-ton crewcab Squarebody.

Can I get a simple suggestion for routing of the catch-can, in this configuration where I have no TB barb, only the intake, and rear driver side PCV and front pass side barb.

Thanks

Basically you need fresh filtered AND measured (IF you have MAF) pre- throttle body air going into one side of the engine via a valve cover unrestricted nipple.
Air goes thru engine picking up all manner of nasties and oil mist, then heading out of the engine thru a valve cover nipple that IS restricted by orifice (OR) you put a PVC valve the line to the manifold vacuum source (AFTER the throttle blade) of your choice.

Some TB/intake setups have a passage through the TB that brings METERED air from IN FRONT OF the throttle blades, back to the intake, to a port on the side of the intake, for the makeup air. It goes to the pass side valve cover.

Here's what the LQ9 setup looks like for example. I'm not familiar in detail with the L96 one butt it might be similar. Check your intake and see if yours is something like it.

Thanks guys. I improvised during the day today and installed a barb fitting between the MAF and TB. I just saw your post and am wondering if this nipple on top of the intake would be that metered source from the TB you mentioned? I know in stock form, that nipple connects to the evaporator solenoid mounted on the driver side fuel rail.

I got my catch can/pcv finally completed today.
Pass valve cover draws from fitting between MAF and TB, drivers side valve cover PCV goes into catch, catch out goes back intake.

The fresh air needs to be in front of the throttled body. Hard to tell but that looks behind the TB. The fresh air vent would be in between your two rubber couplers by your fan shroud there in the hard plastic line. Hard to tell from photo, but looks like your MAF sensor is in the tube that say Vortex. Usually tis vent tube is a 3/8 tube. Under WOT your excess crank pressure recycles back in there.

Yeah that’s what I thought as well, that’s why I was hesitant to assume I could use that port. I did end up getting a Vibrant aluminum-grommeted fitting and installed it between MAF and TB.
