2006 LS2 Cam sensor P0340 issues
I have a 2006 LS2 out of a GTO that we put in a 68 Cadillac for a friend about 8 years back. He took it to get painted now it's back for finishing.
When we tried to start it, it would not start. So we put in new injectors and spark plugs and we got it running (it had old gas in it that had gone bad). The problem we are having is it shows a P0340 Cam sensor circuit malfunction code.
It will start hard and backfire thru the exhaust every few times we try to start it. The other times it fires rite up and runs smoothly. We changed the cam and crank sensors. We checked continuity of the wires back to the computer (they were good).
We got a different computer and still the same issues. The wire harness is from Street and Performance (they are no longer in business). Has anyone run into an issue like this before? I've seen things that say the P0340 code may not be the cam sensor but maybe some electrical interference. But still unsure why it starts hard every few starts. Any input is appreciated.
