Default Billet intake manifold

I've got a stroker 414 with l92 heads and a stock ls3 intake with a 90mm tb. Makes great power(numers in sig), but when did this there weren't options for intakes for rectangle port heads back 06.

Fast forward to me scrolling through marketplace and finding a plazmaman billet intake, low profile. The price of these was always a turn off cause I'm not trying get every little but out of my engine, and the stock intake is doing great and the car is very driveable. That said there's one on marketplace that's coming down in price.

So is it worth it? I really like how they look, but always thought I'd loose some low end power and maybe lose some driveability going away from the ls3 intake. I assume the peak gain here's probably under 30hp. Heads have some port work to open the exhaust valve, and the cam is 246/253 .620 ish lift 112 LSA.

Thoughts?

Unless you're planning to boost the **** out of what you have, it's not worth it. That intake isn't meant for mild combos like that.

I'd just get a BTR Trinity intake. It's low-pro and fits no problem under C6 hoods or if you have a large pile of money burning a hole in your pocket then absolutely go for the billet intake

Nah if I'm gonna do it, I'd bo billet. This is the one I've found and he's come down a lot on the price it's really the only reason my interest is peaked cause it would be a good deal.

I'd just buy it then. You'll end up kicking yourself for not jumping on it when you did

What is the rest of the motor setup? Chances are you would need to change a number of things to make that manifold even worth the scratch.

But it does look cool. How much taller is it than the plastic LS3?

I'd probably pick an intake that matches my cam rpm range and overall goals for the car.

But I'm weird like that....

That's one priority. For my swap, I need a low, short manifold. The aluminum ones I can rework to mount the throttle on an elbow.
Besides, at the car show, I can lie about the horsepower. Can't fake the style.

This engine setup was built with a sheet metal intake in mind, but at that time they weren't readily available the builder was going to make one, but theres a long story of how i ended up with this motor instead of my plan. That's why I ended up with a ls3 intake figured id upgrade down the road and that plan has been on the bank burner.

That plazma man intake i really just see as engine candy. I'm sure it performs, but if power isnthe goal i think theres way more economical options out there. It's sold now or lulled down one, but at 2500 that was a freaking steal if someone got it.

It's a little murky on whether strokers can take advantage of one of these, I've seen them on some 427ci builds NA, but never numbers or a graph to share. Again crime of convenience was just curious how it would really perform.

Thanks for the input

Stroke doesn't care.. It's all about the heads, cam, valvetrain.
