It should be ok to run it as long as you don't go full throttle.. I personally would get it retuned asap!

I would at least change the engine size and ifr. That'll get you close enough to not worry about the break in.
Just saw the engine size is the same as before. If the injectors are the same you should be fine.

I just fired my 427 a few days ago so I recently went through this.

You will need to change your IFR for the larger injectors. If not it will be too rich and that is not good at all for a new engine.

In addition to that you need to change the cylinder displacement. Since my car has ETC I also changed the ETC Throttle Area Conversion for the 90mm TB.

With these changes my car fired right up and runs supprisingly well with the rest of the tune being the one that I did for my heads/cam 346.

If you can borrow a MAF translator, you can set it to 10-15% lean to prevent washing the rings down. Drive it like a sissy until you get tuned.

Well, its either: 1. drive it like a "sissy" or 2. take a real good chance at hurting the engine.

IFR is injector flow rate. You change it using tuning software such as EFILive or HPT.

My car ran so bad with just l76/l92 and cam that said no reason won’t run. Sounds like the obvious Wrong Cam Gear for Cam Sensor or Reluctor for Crank Sensor. Check with Scanner for all inputs not just codes. You need HPT to make adjustments for new engine. I found people on there forum very helpful and did a safe to run tune for me.

I think that it depends upon what was done in the first tune.

I just fired my 427 last week. All I did to my existing h/c 346 tune was change the IFR , bump the idle speed from 850 to 950, bump up cylinder displacement, the and make a change for the 90mm throttle body that the L76 intake has. It fires right up and idles fine at 950 rpm.

Did you change your cylinder displacement? This has a huge effect on most everything else.

Although I mostly advise against mail order tuning, you could probably get a mail order tune to get you close enough to get it to a tuner. I still wouldn't "get on it" until it sees a dyno, though.
