I mean its kinda an either way situation. You can go with a tune if you really think you need one. To be honest its not a bad idea if you have the money. However there are a few of use that are running around with them and with out a tune. You will pick up some power and the motor will run more efficient. If you got the money go ahead and do it.

I'd tune it if you have no other future mods planned, but I would wait if you plan on getting a cam or something..

Headers do tend to make the car run a bit richer at idle and down low. The stock WOT fuel curve is also too rich for optimum performance either way. There is more to the tune that also helps performance such as fan control and torque management reductions.

A few degrees of timing in the right spot will also help the overall power curve.

Yes if he wants to see gains in the 1/4. I showed no gains untill after the tune.

When I had just headers I wanted a tune since I was trowing out clouds of smoke (like a deisel). but once I got beat by a car with a cam I decided I needed a cam, then heads, then duals, and now a stroker. However, if your sure all you need is headers, I'd recomend a tune

It's strongly recommended, but not as necessary as if he had a cam or other internal work done.

.. I say, if your not doing anymore work to the car in the next six months then get a tune. If you are, wait, then get a tune. A tune will help everything -- its better for the car, better for D/D, better for track times.

--There aren't any downsides to tuning except for the money, but if you own one of these moneypit cars then you either have to get past the money part of it or stop modding, sell it, and buy a yoshiwawa or something

I think my tune after Lts was definiltey worth it. Ran a ton smoother, i could even hear a difference at WOT, alot more crisp. picked up 15hp maybe 1mpg, and shifts harder.

I also shaved off 7 tenths of a second with tune, headers, Ory and better weather.
