The passenger side valve cover tube goes to air inlet system (between the air filter and the throttle body).

If you're using a truck intake manifold, the valley cover tube gets capped, and the PCV hose goes from the top of the intake manifold to the drivers side valve cover opening.

If using the car intake manifold, the drivers side valve cover gets capped and then you use the little "U" shaped hose to go from the valley cover to the intake manifold opening right behind the throttle body.

i have the ls2 intake on it. the drivers valve cover has one opening at the back which i have routed different from your description. i get a hissing once i shut the engine off, so ill try to reroute as you say and see if it makes a difference.

Thanx!

Thanks HSV-GTS-300. I am running an LS7 intake manifold (wet sump oil system) on my 452 engine. You clearly show the fresh air entering the crankcase at the passenger side valve cover and the oil air entering the manifold on the passenger side port. I have two questions:

1) Where is the PCV orifice located?

2) What should be connnected to the port located at the front driver's side of the intake manifold?

The LS2 PCV system is located underneath the valley cover, same location as LS6. The PCV valve as such does not exist, it is merely a restrictor inside the metal tube which pokes out of the front of the valley cover.

The port on the front drivers side of the intake manifold is where the fuel vapour solenoid (bottom of picture) clips on.

I had not remembered there being an orifice in the tube on the front of the valley cover. I remove this tube (and the entire plastic piece on the cover underside) and install a plug on our dry sump applications. Now I understand why there is no external PCV orifice on the newer engines.

Thanks much for answering both questions!

ok, so according to the photo by Paul, I should cap the vertical port in the rear and filter the horizontal port in the front for crank ventilation?

any reason I can't cap that one and filter the rear vent? would be easier since its vertical already. Also, where's a guy get those nifty little round filters from? Local parts house?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I'm trying to double tap a few things before I come home on leave from Iraq and tackle my swap...Anyways so on with the questions... Do I need the fuel vapour soleniod? Any pros or cons of not having/using it? And does anyone know the part number for it? Oh and where's a good place to purchase plugs/caps if I need to cap it off??Thanks for the replies!!!

Solenoid not needed for PCV system. Discard it unless you have to have evap system for emissions testing. You can buy rubber cap assortment at your local auto parts store, I think you only need to cap one nipple drivers side of TB.
Thanks for your service to our country!

Thanks for the response...So there is no advantage to having it other than emissions??? Yeah I'll need to cap that port and the driver's side valve cover...And no problem man..Infantry Leads The Way!!!

Yeah, it's just emissions. I pulled all that crap off, and had the codes turned off when it was tuned. Cleaned up the engine bay a little.

BTW, there is an LS2 car intake, and an LS2 truck intake (TBSS). They do have different routings. Also, you may want to use a catch can between the valley cover nipple and the intake. Some of these motors suck up horendous amounts of oil into the intake.

Cool...I just won't use it then...I'll be using a LS3 car style intake...So I'll cap that port off along with the other port in the rear...( Not the brake booster port unless I go hydroboost) Thanks again for the help....

Hey Jamie, what's up. When you coming home. Let me know how you like, I mean love,
the FLT. Anyway, that vaccum line might go to your HVAC system inside the car. For the controls on the duct work. Do some research on that.

Hey man...I'll be coming home sometime less than 60 days from now for 15 days!!! My new house will be built and I'm going to try to tackle my swap in the first couple days that I'm home...Right now just trying to figure out some loose ends on the project...The weird thing is the LS2 intake doesn't have this hose and neither does the L76 intake from what I can tell from pics..Some LS3s don't seem to have it either...But my LS3 intake has it...

looking for the Evap soliniod bracket harness connector, and and hose as pictured in the bottom of this pic, as well as fuel rail stop brackets, PVC hose, and bolt lengths for the intake manifold itself.

Aslo I bought a LS3 valley cover with the breather under it I hope it will bolt onto my 07 truck engine, I know it doesn't have the knock sensor holes in it but that doesn't matter as I am using a Ls2 computer and knock sensors on the side of the block
