Default LS2 Manifolds or Long tube headers?

I have a 1970 Chevelle that I am putting an 06 LS2 Engine into.
I am putting a small cam, link here: http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_06.../photo_15.html I would like to run headers but in the past I have had problems with leaks with headers on my big blocks and small blocks alike. I could run the stock manifolds which would seal better but look like **** and probably don't flow really well.
The goal of my build is a semi daily driver. I want something that has some pep but I don't want a race car. I had a big block before that had more than enough power with poor drivability.

So which would you choose? The stock manifolds or go with long tube headers. The headers will look better and flow better but I think for drivability the manifolds will be better.
Thanks for the input.

I guess I could have the manifolds sandblasted and ceramic coated.

The hooker headers, ceramic coatings are around $700 for a pair.

Leaks don't seem to be a big problem with LSX engines, go with the longtubes.

You have already listed the positive and negative aspects of headers and stock manifolds, so I won't repeat them to you.

It kinda all boils down to being honest with yourself and deciding what is most important to you. Your cam choice indicates to me that the drivability factor is pretty important to you, so I would think the stock manifolds might be your better choice.

FWIW, I agree with you about headers not being the best choice for a daily driver. I have never been totally happy with any header installation for my street cars in the past. That is why I still have stock manifolds on my Goat; even though I realize I am leaving some performance on the table.

Just bolt on a supercharger and use stock manifolds

but i would just go with stock manifolds if your really concerned with leaks. cause i know mine sound a little leaky but that could be from the jet hot ORY too.

LT's, if done right w/ good gaskets they are just as reliable as manifolds.
