Default Which will be cheaper and easier? (LT1 to LS2)

I'm switching to an LS2 with L92 heads and an L76 intake.

I know the small parts usually nickel and dime you to death.

There is a guy selling a low mileage LS2 with a T56 with all the pedals, sensors, wiring, accessories, etc for $7000.

Would this be cheaper than if I went and bought an LQ9 block with the heads, intake, sensors, accessories, tranny, wiring etc separately?

No one wants this one? All these guys with all this experience going to waste - OK!

Are you capable of doing the FULL build yourself? Doing it yourself - block up will allow you the most changes. A great way to step up in many areas and have the engine still look and act stock. If you do nothing more than balance everything and do the heads for better flow you'll have a better total package. I understand cost is a factor - so is bang for buck!

so you still need to buy the heads and the intake?? im guessing youre going to cam this thing as well so you might end up doing some portwork to the heads which may involve you getting some new stuff for them.. i dunno bro.. if you dont stroke this thing out to get some more cubes at least get a bad *** cam to go with that set up and a good tune... probably turn out pretty nice.

there is nothing "cheap" about building a car. If your doing what i am doing (lq4 l92 heads) your going to be VERY limited on cam choice. I am flycutting for my MS4, again more money...

I won't be doing the engine building myself. I have access to one of the best builders in my town and he is VERY reasonable on pricing so cost of building a motor is not an issue. I would be doing the install myself and I would like to build something VERY streetable that I can drive daily. My last LE2 LT1 stroker was my daily driver but its cam lope and fuel economy drove me, my wife, and my neighbours bonkers. So we're (collectively) looking at building something with about 530-550 hp but more sleeper. Might possibly go forced induction in later years.

I'm just trying to find what would be cheaper in the long run given that I have an LT1 and basically nothing will be salvagable when I go over to LS. Build an LQ9 from scratch with forged internals and buy accessories, sensors etc seperately or buy a complete LS2 with T56 and change the heads, intake, and cam and "drop it in" so to speak.
