Default Harmonic balancer question, help please.

Do the harmonic balancer in a LS1 and LS6 is the same? Can I use a Corvette LS6 balancer im My Camaro during a swap? It will match my accesories? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks.

The same balancer will fit LS1/LS2/LS6.

But you shouldn't use Corvette (Y body) on an F body.
The Corvette belts run about 3/4" in closer to the engine block than F body.
All your F body accessories would be out of line if you used a Y body balancer.

So if I'm going to change from a LS1 to a LS6 block in my 1998 Camaro and I will get a Harmonic balancer (I will keep the other in the original 140,000 miles engine), I will look for a LS1 balancer because the LS6 is different and won't fit on my Camaro?

Get the Harmonic Balancer for the car type not engine. Our 2002 SS came with the LS6 block stock and we have a F-Body ASP pulley on it right now.

No LS based engines use a balancer as they are all internally balanced. The pics are of vibration dampners. & yes, the Y-body & F-body are different as shown.
