Yes please-
Does the new one have squirters or plugged holes into oil gallery for squirts?
If it has open squirters it certainly has implications for oil pumps on LS3s.

First of all is there a way to tell what year these blocks are ??

The first 2 pics are the older 6.2l

These last 4 pics are of the new 6.2l block with the squirters and you can see a differnce in main caps also look at the part numbers.

That xxx724 block does not look like the latest?

The noticeable difference is supposed to be in the block window vents.

Just not sure?

The DOD L92s had squirters of some sort I believe; and a HO oil pump which open squirts would require-

HHmmm the main caps in the link match what i have. I guess i need to pull a main cap off and see if it has dowels.

Is there a way to see what year it is ?

Yes the age of the block can be checked. There is an engraved 10 digit number located on the front LHS pad underside (with block in normal orientation). Turn the block upside down. You cant miss it.

XYYYZZZZZZ. X is the year of manufacture. YYY is the day. ZZZZZZ is a unique sequential number.

If these blocks are still 724's, maybe the casting PN has not changed, but the part number certainly would have. Fitting the oil squirters may only be a an additional machining op.

Main caps look similar to LS7's, but still look a little like PM forgings. Interesting to see whether they are dowelled & have 12mm head bolts. :D
