Here's a "Cliff's Notes" version.
Change to wet sump oil pan (several will work), change windage tray and oil pick up to match new pan. You'll need dip stick with matching tube (you get to drill block for tube).
Change crank timing gear to Ls2, change oil pump to standard type, change front timing cover to ls2 type (has crank sensor).
Shorten crankshaft (about 1" AIR) or have sleeve machined to push crank pulley back against crank timing gear. I'm told the crank can be shortened with a hacksaw??? However, if you've got the $$$ to buy an Ls7 why "shade tree" the crank snout?
You may (or may not) be able to reuse the Ls7 crank pully. If not, buy a pulley that matches your accessories (Camaro, Vette or truck).
4l80E (or 6l80E/6L90E) tranny should work fine with Ls7.
I suspect it's just as cheap (cheaper?) to purchase an aftermarket 8 qt. dry sump oil tank, tank breather and the required hoses. All depends on what you can get used. That is, assuming the dry sump pan clears and you have space to mount /route the dry sump accessories.
I'm sure if I've omitted anything someone will chime in!

It is going into a c3 corvette. A 71 or 74 vert. Not sure.
Thanks for info
