will a gasket for a 4.030 bore work on a 4.00 or a 4.005 bore?
pretty much is the head gaskest for a 408 the same as the ones for a 402?

Yes, they can be used on either engine. The three layer GM MLS gaskets have a 4.039" bore IIRC.

The five layer MLS gaskets have a 4.100" bore size which are for the 6.2L/LS3 engines, but have also been used on LS2's with success.
