Default re-boring a resleeved block...4.1" to 4.125"

My friend might buy a LS6 resleeved block that has a 4.1 bore already. It needs a rebuild though. So he was going to bore it out to 4.125 and start completely fresh with new pistons and not just rehone it.

It's like $500 so it'll be a good deal if he can rebore it. Its a friend of his and its been running great for a long time and does not lose coolant so the sleeves are good now.

Will that mess up the sleeves, like loosen them or cause one to drop, etc?

depends on the sleeves how far you can bore it,why not just hone it .005 over?

Its an oil drinking monster with a long stroke (4.125), so the cylinders are expected to be pretty out-of-round, or whatever you call that. 4.125 stroke in those older short LS1 sleeves.

Will the same pistons work if its bored .005 or would he need new pistons? What about the compression, will it be just fine and nice and tight?
