Default questions bout 370, 408

im looking a building a new built for my camaro, i ran across a good deal on a 370 iron block has stock new gm 6.0 crank eagle rods and malhe boost pistons, my car is full weight with a 6 point cage and moser 12 bolt my plans are to run low 10 to 10.50 on motor and would like to be able to run a 300 shot if i need to go low nines or faster my questions are should i use the stock crank what pistions should i use think around 12. to 13 cr with trickflow 225 heads and what cam? not worried bout running racing gas cause dont drive the car much, please help me out planning on doing the before long thanks

Well, first things first. If you plan on changing out the crank AND the pistons, why would you bother buying that shortblock??? I mean, if you are going to use only the block and the rods Then, if you are going that route, what length are teh rods? So, unless you are picking up the shortblock REAL cheap, I would pass. Now, if you plan on running that shortblock, OK then. Really need more info here.

dont know what im wanting thats why im asking i have this shortblock already paid 1100 from a friend that lost his job and need the money my question is what woulg it take to make the 370 run 10.50 or should i go ahead and make it a 408 i think the rods are 6.125

Well, if you paid $1100 for it, I would not get rid of anything, as you would be losing money. So, just run that combo. You say "boost" pistons, I am assuming you mean "dish" or basically referring to lower compression, right? What does it come out to, compression? Do you know? We need to know that as it will determine if you can make those pistons work or not. What heads do you have right now? The Trickflows? Stock LS1? Anything? Do you have the shortblock and thats all, and you need a shopping list to go 10.50's???

ok yes i need a shopping list and the pistons that are in there have a very deep dish if im not mistaking he said with a 66cc head it would be around 9.1 cr which is not what im looking for all i have is the 6.0 block assembled with a stock 6.0 crankshaft eagle 6.125 rods and dish pistons with head studs i wanting to run the trickflow 225 heads and maybe like a 244 250 ish camshaft i also have a ported fast 90 intake that i might use or maybe go with the victor or super victor not sure thats why im asking ive been running small block for ten years and last last year steped in to a ls car and never looked back but the problem i have nobody around here has ls car i think there about 5 including my 2 so just looking for some help
