engine vibration on LS7 427CI hi i need some help please
i had install new diamond pistons, manley rods and std. crankshaft on my corvette c6 z06 then i have engine vibration from 1700 to 1900 rpm only they said that it could be a balance matter that you should external balance the flywheel to solve the vibration. what could be the solution plz. ? thanks....

how about some lower case letters man,we are not blind.
did you have the rotating assembly balanced?the steel rods are alot heavier that the factory titanium and require alot of mallory in the counterweight to make up for this

I know that we have fixed a couple rotating assm. with diamond pistons. They only had the one piston cut for reluctor clearance and the 7 others were 5 grams heavy. we rebalanced with a 5 gram heavier wrist pin on that cylinder and fixed their vibration problem.
tear down the engine and properly balance it to the correct bobweight. with steel rods your bobweight will be approximately 20% heavier, which means you will need heavy metal balancing. DO NOT EXTERNALLY BALANCE IT!!! hope this helps.
when i had my rotating assembly ballanced locally. My diamond pistons were the same, It would make more sense on diamonds part to machine all 8 pistons with the "reluctor clearance" grove in them. But I was told the weight of the oil that is splashed onto it would ballance out the 5g difference.
