LSX block & crank position sensor issue
My crank position sensor is hitting the reluctor wheel on my crank.
I have a brand new LSX block and a Compstar 4 inch stroke crank and it ground a double groove in my crank sensor last week.
So I spaced the sensor out about .014 past the face of the sensor and after two days of driving it pulled another code this weekend. I will be pulling the sensor again this week to see if it is hitting it or if I need to space it more.
Have any of you guys experienced something like this or know someone who has?
Thanks,
Glenn

Dude, thats wierd. Can you measure from the surface the sensor sits on to the surface inside the block the sensor protrudes from? I'm thinking maybe that spot was machined too far...maybe?
I am not sure if there is enough room to get a mike in there and be able to see the wheel and ect.
The second sensor was worn to about .010. This is on top of the .032 shim I installed behind the sensor.
I am going to go .090+ on the next shim.
GM said they did not want to recall anything and would deal with manufacturing flaws on a one to one basis.
I guarantee you that they machined the sensor surface to much.
Thanks,
Glenn
