Stick with stock for now. YT's would be nice though, but I like the Cranes. Problem is, that with the ramp rate of the MS3(comp grind) the Cranes might not work so well.

The problem with the Cranes and HS's is that they're a bit heavy on the tip. We've seen valve float with the MS3 on stock 243 heads with each of these aftermarket rockers, and the problem was alleviated virtually every time by swapping back to a stock rocker. We also HIGHLY recommend the modification that Harland Sharp does to the stock rockers. They replace those pesky needle bearings with a sealed bearing, clean the rockers, etc. That keeps the lighter weight of the rocker, but with more durability in there! These typically run a bit quieter than the stockers as well! HS charges about $300 for this service, and it's worth every penny IMO! We run these in our racecar you see in my sig

My 2nd choice would be YellaTerra ultralites, hands down.

Hey Matt, just curious what valve springs did you guys have on the #243s when you did the rocker test?

We've tested with two different beehives and the PRC duals.

Ok cool. I can see the Cranes acting real funny with the beehives, but the duals should have shown better control, but the dyno showed otherwise I take it.

Duals did control it better....but in some instances, there was still float with the aftermarket rockers whereas the stocker or modified stockers did not have these issues.

Were the dual springs that your were using a "Low" or High" frequency spring, and what rpms where you guys expericing issues/float? I do agree that most 90% aftermarket rockers are heavy out over the nose.

So then what is the best option for guys with aftermarket heads that want to avoid valve guide wear, but dont want to suffer valve float either?

Solid roller is going to need an adjustable valvetrain.

I know this, my engine is solid roller, lol.

I was asking what would someone with a set of AFR or TFS heads use for roller rockers in a hydraulic engine setup that wanted to avoid valve guide wear and didnt want valve float from the heavy tip of aftermarket rocker arms.

Aslong as you are running the correct valve springs for your application, and your geometry is correct, most aftermaket rockers you look at or choose should not run into any issues of float/harmonics or valve guide wear. I personally don't think people turn these motors hard enough to even worry about being to heavy over the nose.
