oil pressure???

oil pressure??? i just did an oil change and whenever the car is idlling (sub 1000 rpm) the pressure is below the halfway marker a little. whenever im cruising its just above the half, and beyond when i give it gas.
is this normal to be that low while idling?? before i changed it it was regularly at the 3/4 mark. i switched to mobile 1 10w30. also when i drained it it barely had 4 quarts in it!

My oil pressure used to be right at the middle mark at idle. Bolt on 2002 Z28, Mobil 1 5w30.
That sucks the previous owner ran so low on oil. I'd check your oil level somewhat often to make sure you don't have a leak somewhere.
