Valve adjustment
Valve adjustment ok guys got a 402, with comp lifters,comp pushrods, and comp 1.75 rockers, when I adjusted the valves I went to zero lash and then an half a turn past. They seem a little noisy but are in a uniform sound. Did I set these wrong? any input would help. Thank you
Number of turns on a fixed fulcrum rockers is not a good way to determine lifter preload. You really need to get an adjustable and measure the zero lash length and then add the desired preload so you are sure it is correct.
I'm pretty sure it's 3/4(minimum) to 1 and 1/2 (maximum) turns from 0 lash to torque spec.
I don't believe you have much preload set (if any) and that's why you're getting the noise.
