Which heads for a 454 lsx drag race setup?

I've been thinking it would be cheaper to build a monster stoker than go the turbo route. So that being said I want to build a 454, run a single plane intake with a 4bbl throttle body, and a solid roller cam. This is all going in a heavy GTO with a TH400 4000-5000 stall. I want to be able to rev it to 7k also.

What heads should I choose?

Just buy my engine and save your self a ton of time and money. Nothing is better then a turbo setup.

At a minimum you should run an ls7 style head either Performance inductions or all pro,the best would be a c5r head

Good point. TIME being the greater savings of the two. It would take near a year to replicate your setup.

What about the PRC LS7 heads?

Do what I'm doing with my 454ci, waiting for the new Edelbrocks to come out. You'll need way over 400 cfm heads to feed an N/A 454ci anywhere near its max flow potential.

But if you can't wait, ported LS7's are good for N/A, if you're gonna spray it use the thicker deck heads by ET or All-Pro.

Canned Valve Heads! lol
Try TSP LS7x 280cc.

Do a turbo or SC.
Something like a LSX 434 with twin 80mms.
