afr 225 question

rebuilding the car and wanted to know opinions on afr 225 heads on a na build on a forged 402. tks

People have made lots of power with AFR 225's N/A and boosted.

I spoke with AFR about putting their 225's on my 403 LS2 not long ago.

You have three options:

Small bore 65cc
Large bore 62cc
Large bore 72cc

They recommend the large bore heads for anything over 3.9xx bore as the large chamber unshouds the valves and helps flow.

They don't recommend milling the 72cc version to less than 65-66cc.

I have been trying to buy some afr judson ports for a while now they flow 356@600 hard to beat that unless you go e.t 255-265's

I had my AFR 225's milled to 66cc for my 402. Tony at AFR did a mild rework of the ports. I also added lightweight intake valves and the upgraded 8019 springs.
