Default Help - L92/L76 Questions

I need some help. I am in the middle of a L92 / L76 swap on a 2005 GTO. I have hit the wall on a couple of things.

1) I thought the injectors were identical between the stock LS2 and L76 manifolds, but they apparently are not. I tried to install the injectors from my GTO on the L76 manifold and they would not work. They were too long, the fuel rail sat up about 0.75 inches too high after I seated the injectors.
What is the stock injector flow rate for the LS2 GTO? I do not want to change flow rate of the injectors.
Would Pontiac G8 or Corvette injectors get me there?

2) I read quite a few opinions on the correct MAP sensor for the L76 manifold. However the answers were somewhat conflicting, but the posts were from several years ago (this might have been worked out since then). Is the 12591290 part number the correct MAP sensor for the L76? I would like to avoid rewiring if possible.

Thanks,
Tim

1. you need 3/4 inch spacers for the fuel rail & longer bolts.
2. only the ls3 uses a different map sensor. with the l76 all you have to do is extend your wires.

Default Injector depth difference

Did you have any problems with flow when you did this? I noticed that the tip of the LS2 injector did not stick into the L76 manifold as far as the in my LS2 manifold. Granted they aren't the exact same because the cathedral style style port on the LS2, but the base of the inlet is the same. I tried to put some numbers to it. The LS2 stuck out ~2.2mm and the L76 stuck out ~1.0mm. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. What was your experience?

I just broke down and go the FAST LS7 style injectors - they fit fine with the L76 intake / stock LS2 fuel rail. Mine is in an f-body so I needed the USCAR / MINITIMER conversion adapters. If you go this route, DON'T use the adapters as they are very poor quality. The injectors, however, are great.

Call Jon at FIC.com and have him set you up with a set that will drop in with the right connectors.
