knocking/ticking noise

knocking/ticking noise

so a little back story....i have a '00 z28 with a mild tune(done before i got the car) and i always run premium with octane booster...no prob most the time...but this last weekend i changed to 5w-30 oil(royal purple) instead of the usual 10w-30 and now i have this knock/loud tick noise at higher rpm's and on startup...i'm thinking it could possibly be the lighter oil or something to do with a valve or spring...i have no noticeable power loss or anything just that annoying noise...could is be the thinner oil or something more? if anyone has an opinion(a valuable one), please let me know...thanx

Probably a lifter tick or something that the other oil was hiding.

When you putt the regular oil that you’ve been using back in... bye some marvel mystery oil, it comes in a red container and i would putt half of the 16 oz bottle in your oil... that usually helps with the tick
