Default Roller Rockers?????

I am trying to decide on which type of roller rockers to use in my ls1. I have a comp cams cam(Duration 265/271, Lift .558/.563) Edolbrock rpmxt heads, edolbrock shorty headers, custom 2 1/2" y pipe, flowmaster catback, and I have somewhere around 5XX rwhp(no bs). I am going to be pulling my intake, because I am going to be under the hood for a weekend I figure it's time for new rocker arms( I am installing an ls6 intake with some 36lb injectors I'm going to need to retune anyhow). I am not sure what type of roller rocker I should go with my first instinct is to go with comp cams, but what about crane, harland, slp, lundi, and summit?
I kind of want to go with a little more lift, but I went with flat top pistons during my rebuild. So I am not sure if I have the valve piston clearance for it.
Is anyone running flat top pistons with more lift than that?
And last but not least what ratio do you guys think that I should go with. 1.6 1.75. 1.8?

Firstly, your RWHP number is a dream on your part. No way in hell! Sorry, just trying to save you some embarassment when you do get it on a dyno.

Secondly, Comp just release a trunion mod for the stock rockers. Go that way.

Agree, 5xx rwhp is bogus. I would just do the trunion swap from Harland Sharp or Comp Cams. If you want more lift, swap cams. Comp usually advises against higher rocker ratio on the LSx camshafts, due to aggressive ramps.

Thanks for the PM but this isn't my first rodeo. Just trying to save you some embarassment or allow you to change your plan - and spend A LOT more money to reach your goals.

BTW: Ricer math is worthless.

COMP Cams
® LS1 Rocker Arm Trunion Upgrade

Valve train technology leader introduces new premium trunion upgrade for GM LS1
rocker arms to optimize both performance & durability
There’s no denying that the GM LS1 engine platform has proven itself as a performer. The valve
train is no different, with an improved design that makes for a perfect combination of power and
durability to complement the impressive cathedral port cylinder head design. The rocker arm
design features a lightweight, yet stiff rocker body that is strong enough for most applications.
However, when it comes to high performance racing applications, high rpm and high valve
spring pressures can put the factory rocker arm’s trunion under intolerable stress.
Enter COMP Cams
® with a new LS1 rocker arm retro-fit trunion kit that replaces the cageless,
loose OEM needle bearings and powdered metal trunion with a premium 8620 steel alloy trunion
and caged roller bearings for added durability. The new design from COMP Cams® utilizes
caged roller bearings that greatly reduce the possibility of the bearing failure experienced with
stock LS1 needle bearings, which can send loose needles throughout the engine upon failure.
Perfect for drag and circle track racing applications that mandate the use of stock engine
components, this performance rocker arm modification is a “must have” upgrade for your LS1
factory rocker arms. As proof of success, for the last two years this rocker arm trunion upgrade
has been tested and performance-proven in the NASCAR GM LS spec engine series.
Founded in 1976, COMP Cams® manufactures camshafts and supporting valve train
components for everything from factory replacement to full race applications, designed and
manufactured using cutting-edge technology. For more information about the COMP Cams®
LS1 Rocker Arm Trunion Upgrade or any other COMP Cams® product or service, call 1-800-

So no I don't have a dyno slip for 500 but my car was flowing better than the car sitting off the dyno with 650 hp so the 5XX hp isn't as liberal as you might think.
Lets see that dyno sheet.

I'm running the Harland Sharp roller rockers in the stock 1.7:1 ratio (actually more like 1.71-1.72:1 or so according to HS). They're a shaft mount style, with each intake and exhaust valve from each chamber tied together, so no more trunions at all. Very nice quality setup and simple install. I'd definitely recommend them.
