- How hot is it actually running and have you verified the ECT with a scan tool?
- Are you losing coolant or done a coolant system pressure check?
- Are both fans working and turning on as programmed?

High static compression will also affect ECT as well. I upgraded to the LT1 radiator and that helped mine alot, though it still runs hot compared to my previous motor with lower compression.

Default heating

i pull a vacume on it to 27 inches every time i mess with it and it always holds. nope not drinking any coolant. and its wanting to boil over if i go out and romp on the car, or if i go and drive it with the AC on. i have a 160 thermostat in it and its wanting to idel at about 185 all the time the car use to run about 170 before i took the motor out and had it honed .010 over now its just wanting to just over heat every time a drive it. and thats even when i drive the car at night.

so really you can take a ls2 .030 over and it dosent have any kinda problems?

I honestly don't know about the bore limit on a LS2 block. Check with Erik at HKE or Steve at Engine Racing Development. Both have experience with that.

My car runs at 195-200 degrees in hot weather without a problem. The temp definitely jumps up after a track run, but does not boil over. What is the ECT immediately after a WOT run or with AC on? What temp is each fan set to turn on at?

i run a 408 build on a ls2 block. no heat problems and it is 90+ degrees and 80% humidity most of the time. i run 20w50 oil with a high volume oil pump.

this may sound funny have you tried a different radiator cap? Seen a few people go thought the same thing and it was the radiator cap! LOL They got new thermostat and still over heated, The new water pump still over heater, Then new radiator and still over heated and after that it was a $3 radiator cap LOL

Also did you bleed the air out of the system? Seen this happen to a few people too. When i do a head swap or motor swap i leave the hose off of the crossover pipe on the front of the heads untill all the air bubbles come out and its pure water then put it back on

Default Question

i got a new cap for it last night. even took the thermostat last night and it still wanted to over heat in like five or 10 mins of just ideling there. i just took a water pump off a customers car yesterday and bought a brandnew radiator yesterday and a new thermostat to and it hasnt changed a single thing. even tried new fans to. just took the heads off the car this morning and the gaskets are on right and dont see anything wrong with the heads or anything in the water jackets. SERIOUSLY IM JUST ABOUT TO HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. ACTUALLY I THINK I HAD IT LAST NIGHT WHEN I GOT THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN AND IT OVER HEATED ON ME YET AGAIN......

Default Question

so what do yall think about this i put fast fuel rails on my car this time with the new motor and the guy that made my cross over in the back to connect the two rails didnt clean the line out when he made it and it clogged all four injectors on the pass side of the motor noticed it today when i pulled the heads and the tops of my pistons had lean burn maks on them. Think thats y my motor was over heating since i wasnt getting very much fuel to that side of the motor.
Thanks
Kerry

are you changing the tune with the different size injectors? If not that is really bad and you can wash out your rings.

Once again are you bleeding out the air?? Haven't answerd that yet
