LS7 rods with a 4.10 crank?

LS7 rods with a 4.10 crank? Can you use the LS7 Ti rods for a 440ci LS7 based build with a 4.100" crank or would they be the wrong length (6.067")?
Would you need custom pistons or are there ones available off-the-shelf?

I wouldn't think someone would have "shelf" pistons for that setup, no. You can PM Brian Nutter (member here on LS1) over at Wiseco and get his feedback. Trust me, that man knows his stuff bout Pistons

Crank has to be made to clear piston at that short a rod. The piston would have to have the LS7 pin size or you would have to hone out the LS7 rods on the pin end to .927 which is easy. Also LS7 rods need to be modified to work with a normal crank as they will not work on a normal crank with a normal fillet. Piston just needs to have correct CH as far as that goes and correct pin. There are many that would work and you can just deck the block to get that quench you want or the HG can be changed.
Engine masters is my favorite. I like the mutt motors. Cool to see what can be thrown together for such a small amount of $$
Take a look at my web page. I have a 403 SBC with 18° heads that dyno'd at 780HP w/o the vacuum pump. That's N/A also. I would consider mine a "budget" motor also since I built it for less than $10K back in 2005. The car is a little heavy and we don't have the trans brake on it yet, but the car should be capable of mid 9's once sorted out.
