Default L92 roller rockers

What's the best brand of roller rockers for a L92 head? Do you go with 1.7 or 1.8 ratio?

at this moment there are only a few. they range in price. when crane was still up and running, they made a 1.7/1.8 rocker for them. then there is jesel and t&d....also yella terra. you can guess which ones were the cheaper 2 out of 4....dont remember on the comp rockers though, or harland sharp. if they are not out yet, they should be soon

for the price and avail, i would say yella terra....

Can you use the stock rocker covers with these?

Thats what Im thinking of doing. The stock rockers are hard to beat, no big bulky roller wheel that really doesnt do anything but add weight.

Comp just started doing the trunion upgrade too as well as HS.

I ran 9.44 @ 143mph with stock L92 rockers and LS7 lifters spinning to 7200 rpm last night. I have had no problems so far. I would say upgrade the trunion's for peace of mind.

Looks like more than a few 9 second cars running stock rockers. Any failures out there?

Hasn't seen more than 7k even. Limiters set on 7100 and I've logged her as high as 70xx on the 1-2 shift. Motor doesn't really like anything more than 6600.

Just keep in mind that if youre going to change to roller rockers over factory rockers, that if youre going to ever run a big cam then stay with 1.7 ratio.. The fast ramp rates that big cams make dont work well with 1.8's.
The only "upgrade" for going 1.8 over 1.7 is about .027" of lift. Sooo if you wanted to try to be slick, you could go 1.8 with a ls6 cam (.550 lift) and have .580 lift without a lope.. My car did 381/404 with that same setup and bolt ons and sounds stock as **** and purrs like a kitten.. lol its all in what you want tho. IMO if youre going to run a bigger cam, then just save youre money and stay with the stock rockers, theyre proven to hold up to the abuse..

I've been running Yella Terra 1.7s for the last 30k. Just changed my springs, and everything looked good except for one small contact area on my valve cover. One whack with a hammer, and that problem was solved. Hell, it was so quiet even with that, I ran for over 30k without knowing it.
