LSX what block

I have a 01 z28 and i am looking to do a swap i have been looking hard at the LQ4. dose anyone have any other sugestions on a block. My reason for the swap is my block has decided to let go and is bound for a scrap heap. So what motor and what mods will i need to do to the block to bolt it strait up using a t56.

lq4 and the lq9 are both good but the lQ9 is a little harder to find and a little more exspensive. If budget isn't a factor than the LSX iron block is a option but can get pretty costly. You can also go with a LS2 or later block but you would need a conversion kit that would cost about 300.

if i go with a lq4 or lq9 what would be required to swap into my 01 camaro with a t56. and i have a set of cast# 862 heads from a 5.3 would those work on either of those blocks.

Keep in mind that the gm lsx block needs a bit of money to make it right-

on the other hand if its not a crazy build the alloy ls2,lq9 gets the job done and more with change in the pocket .....
