anyone use elliotts cams before? i have a stock lq4 in a caprice that i use for drag racing only and was thinking of buying this cam from elliotts port works but just wanted to see what people that of his cams....i had a lt1 and used his heads and cam on that motor and it was great.

Lloyd spec'd a bullet cam for me for my 383 LS1. I haven't tuned it yet, so I can't tell you what it'll actually do, but Lloyd has never steered me wrong in the past. Mail order tune only, though, it sure feels like it's working well. By Lloyd's calcs, I'll be losing 5hp peak from the old cam and picking up about 40 in the midrange. The cams Lloyd specs are not comp, so the lobes are a little different. Sorry I don't have any more concrete evidence for you...but I would def get my cam again and you'd be hard pressed to find a better person to deal with. I really like Lloyd because he is truly a power under the curve guy and not a peak power only guy. He took a lot of time with me to find out my exact engine combo and intentions for the car.
Just looking at those specs it appears as though he took your combo into consideration. That is probably not the cam he would've spec'd for a 3400-3600 lb F-body. That cam is less about peak power and more about low to mid range to get that tank off the line and that LSA lends itself well to the runner design of the intake. Although, when you say choppy idle, I'm not sure if you care or not...but I wouldn't think that would be too choppy. It'll def sound cammed, but none of the wild lope people seem to get a hard on for these days.
