can LS7 heads work on smaller strokers like 408 or a 418? If so I wonder why more people don't go this route instead on L92.

The LS7 heads come in at a price right under heads like trickflow 245's.

Default Bore size

I remember reading a post where the smallest size was listed for the LS7 heads. I think it was 4.080 or 4.1

Not necessarily, but it takes some work to run the stockers with a SR. I think that it is worth the effort.

Its not worth it, if you look at many head flow charts most heads lose at the least 10+cfm by going from a 4.125 bore to a 4.030 bore and thats heads made for small bores. The ls7 has a 2.20 int valve that would be so shrouded by the cylinder you would be back to ported Ls6 flow numbers. This would also cause alot of turbulence in the runner behind the valve and create alot of problems with port velocity.

From what I've found and heard, The intake isn't the problem its the exhaust valve that'll scrape on anything less then 4.100" bore.

what are the avreage HP gains ..?

I've used them all, except the Precision Race Components.

E/T and WCCH ported ALL PRO heads are fantastic!... I've used a lot of them without any issues. Both are pricy, but you get what you pay for...

ETP made a 4" bore LS7 cylinder head to run on smaller bore engine, worked great in my 408 w/hyd roller and stock LS7 intake ran 10.0's @135 in a 3400 pound F-body.

I have a fully built LS7 from TSP, even drove it out there to have it dynoed. Made 550+ through a 12bolt and stock LS7 intake and got close to 30mpg on the interstate. Cant beat that.

Mast motorsport LS7 heads. You can use factory ls7 valve train. Talking to BAZ at lsx country.com and he will be listing some deals soon.

Mast ones are the new ETP heads IIRC.
Cary is working with them.

The LS7 exhaust valve misses an LS3 cylinder wall (4.065" bore) by about 0.030 at full lift (LS3 exhaust clearance is about 0.070"). Intake is about 1/8" away.

Be interesting to know how the exhaust flow is affected.

Yup, no gimicks 1,002/928 corrected with 93 octane through the air filter. It will suck your eyes into the back of your head.

How about some flow details? Are these worth upgrading from my ET LS7's?
