I am thinking of spending a bit now. I might go the TFS 225cc CNC heads. I am going to see a blower expert in Aus first to see if I should go the 235cc TFS heads. I am also going to get a blower cam 214/224@50 .580/.590 lift, bar lifters, roller rockers from one of your sponsors. The TFS heads are a bit cheaper than the AFR heads. Cheers Russ

I know the older style heads were notorious for broken valve guides and truth be known thats what happened to mine. You either get a good set or a bad set. The newer castings are suppose to be alot better. In all honesty called texas speed and holler at john j. Best prices, quality work, and great results.

The avatar is correct, I have a 8 psi Harrop blower on the ls2. I gather the 317 is the intake runner size. What brand is it? Cheers Russ

I have them on a 403 I built. I have not had it dynoed but it is a lot faster than c6 z's in 4th gear pulls so I am quite sure I am at the 500 + rwhp level.

Default 317's

I have a set of 317's on my 402. With a FAST 90/90, it popped 482 RWHP and the tuner didn't know WTF he was doing ! Now it's in a SD tune and it pulls great! 317's would be a very cost effective solution, but granted the TFS or AFR's would probably out do the 317's

I think I have less then $1K in my 317's They were new castings I got off ebay for like $199 3 yrs ago. They were ported locally. With a CNC port job from like WCCH or whoever, they might flow better.

I grabbed a set of LS7 heads from Richard @ WCCH. In talking with him, he seems to know his stuff!

IM pretty sure its 210cc on the intake runners. 225cc is an aftermarket size.

Edit: Anyone else notice when i quoted him his "number/pound" symbol became a "does not equal" sign??

I would personally only buy heads from a particular sponsor. http://www.proheads.com/

If I am not mistaken they do the heads for Nelson Racing Engines.

I am running Patriot heads on both the cars in my sig. The '98 has 500+ passes on them and the '01 has 250+ with nary an issue. In fact the one time we went all out with the '01 it went 10.79 @ 124. Not bad for a budget head. I would definitely buy them again.

You pulled the heads because of a peak dyno number you didn't like? Should have took it to the track. I helped install a set of used Patriot stage 2's (he bought for $750), G5X3 cam on a full weight Z28. The owner ran a 11.3 with an M6 and mail order tune. I believe he got it into the 11.1's.
