How to fix misaligned steering rack?
Hi...2006 GTO owner here
I just finished my header install last night and it looks like we reconnected the steering rack incorrectly because the steering wheel is completely upside down when I drive straight. I know I have to go back in and disconnect the U-joint to fix this but I have no clue how to align everything properly. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking I could put my steering wheel straight and lock it into place, then disconnect the joint, then move the wheels manually until they are straight as well. The problem is, I wont know if the steering wheel is centered or is actually turned a full revolution
. Any tips/ideas?

. Any tips/ideas? Put your wheels straight then disconnect the joint, roll the wheel into the corect position and reconnect it.
FWIW your method wll work also. It can only connect in one of two positions and you chose the wrong one last time. (if the connection is the same as a f-body)

Careful which way you rotate the wheel! It needs to rotate back in the same direction that it came from or you could rip the clock spring under the driver's airbag and deploy it.
