Default L92 castings...

I have 2 sets of L92 heads, one set is 823, other set is 5364 . Is either casting superior to the other? I need to dump one set off to get assembled with the motor and sell the other. THANKS!

823 are the rough chamber version, the other 4 digit is the smooth chamber version, if u have both sets, u can visually compare next to each other.
but that is the only diff. they have that im aware of, besides cast no.
823 are usually found on the 6.0 truck engines.

Thats funny-we compared both sets and found the exact opposite.

In addition the ports are bigger on the 823 (or at least that is what we found when comparing the 2 sets we had).

Edit-I take that back-now that you mention it-(but it was so long ago and I am getting senile)-seems like you may be right. Ultimately we decided to go with the bigger ports.

I will check tomorrow with the guy that did the build. Maybe he isn't as senile.
