A few heads and cams questions
I plan on doing a pretty basic swap, smallish cam and ported heads. I was planning on the LE1 heads from Loyd Elliot and his 223/218 Cam. Not too intense. Car as 126k miles.
Most of my questions resolve around whether I need higher performance of it, or I can use GM replacement parts, or just use what I have. These are the following parts I am considering, though am wondering if it is really necessary:
Would I gain anything by upgrading my fuel rails over stock?
Head bolt kits...can I use GM stock replacements?
For the timing set, I was eyeing the Trick Flow timing set, is this necessary? Or will a stock replacement be sufficient?
Someone suggested I replace my oil pump at the same time. I'm assuming that a stock oil pump would be sufficient? Or do I even need to replace it if it is working good?
And that's about it for now.
