Default 480rwhp cammed LS3 in f-body question

Guys, finally approaching "done." This car pulls like a raped ape, however, it's not even close to a DD (IMHO) like this so I am going with a different cam. If it were a weekend car, I'd keep it as-is. It really does tear ***.

Is there anything else you guys know of besides the GM Hot Cam that will retain half decent manners AND spring life and still give a nice bump in power and torque? The Hot cam seems to be my only option as all the stealth cams use high lift (which these heads seem to love) and hammer springs pretty good.

I am looking at the LS7 cam also but am worried it may pull the power band up too much. However, the specs compare to a slightly larger Hot cam with .550 lift...

The cam now is LMR's stage 3 LS3 cam. It makes around 500 in the new Camaro and C6s but it still feels good in my little POS.

Mods are:
stock drivetrain (m6)
MTI lid
Z06 MAF
92mm TB
stock Ls3 heads and intake
ARH 1 7/8 headers with catted Y
SLP dual dual

Given my 17x11 ZR1 wheels, y-pipe with cats, and plain ole lid, it puts down the power but I need something driveable and decided I don't want to deal with valvespring changes. I'd rather have 430 reliable rwhp at this point than 480 I have to f*** with all the time as I roll the miles. Anyone got any ideas besides GM's Hot cam?

Could be the tuning but doubtful. As far as other cams, there are quite a few sponsors that are doing very well with the LS3s with smaller cams.

It just won't play nice under 1500rpms. I suspect the 98 PCM being slow may be a contributing factor also.

I have a couple of cams you might be interested in. One is a 224/236 117 with just over .600" lift. We normally run this with the Comp 26925 springs and I would expect many, many worry free miles. The cam has a mild lope at idle and will make power from idle to 6800+. You should see 430-450 in a stick car depending on mods with excellent drivability.

And yes, this would be more like 475/450 SAE...

if u look at that GMHTP test from a few months ago, the Comp, Futral and Katech cams all made good power and torque and were very streetable...

Did they give you a dyno chart that was SAE corrected? Nice numbers though.
