Erik has always been good to work with. He is one of our dealers so if you want to get one of our ERL prepped blocks through Erik just give him a ring at 713-722-7000 or erik@hkracingengines.com. If you can't seem to get ahold of him just contact me and I'll get you hooked up.
Thanks!

Erik built my 454, which i bought through Chris @ CCP. Erik can be difficult to get ahold of somethimes, but Chris is always around if Erik isn't.
You need to go ahead and have the check made out and get it in the mail you won't be disappointed with Chris or Erik

Yep or call me, I can get you set up with an HKE engine and as stated I'm always available. I was even helping a customer on Christmas day. You can get a hold of us 24/7 and if we don't answer leave a message and I will call you back.
We are about to offer our RHS block series of engines here in a couple weeks as well

Yes I am a sponsor but unfortunately as you can tell by the time I am logging on I am somewhat hard to get ahold of even though I already spend at least 6 hours a day on the phone. Chris at CCPP can also get ahold of me and I do stuff through him as well. Someday soon we may have a dedicated person to just handle the phones and I will announce it but for now email is always best. I didn't want a banner on the side as we already have too much business and I hate not being able to answer all the calls we have already. Also thanks everyone for the nice words and I get on the sire here every other day and try and answer a few questions if I can.

This may sound bad but its not intended that way. How streetable is that thing? The powerband described sounds like its not very friendly for street use. Not that I would give a **** about that but some might. Nice price from a great builder though.

Yes on any engine it could be mild to wild. I am not sure exactly which engine this is referring too though but we have some that granny would be happy to drive and some that need a 5000 stall minimum.

I was referring to the 457 as it comes in the ad on Chris' site. Sorry for the confusion.

If you are talking about the Green one then I get it but if not then I'm lost. Don't dodge the question I know the other site you are on and BS doesn't fly there. LOL!

Oh I'm sure, I was just curious as to how streetable that one would be. It doesn't seem like it would be very friendly. You have a great and well deserved rep I just wondered what you thought of that particular one in a street car. I know what I would think and I've had some pretty stupid cars that I drove on the street. Looking back it wasn't very smart. For a guy looking for a more streetable, daily driven what would the cam look like? Not asking for any secrets but just generalizations what could be done for a reliable, daily driven 457 or 460. Hp numbers if you have a guess would be cool. I've wanted to do a 455 for my TA and have been sidetracked because of the issues that big inch LSx's have on the street. Oil usage and the like. I'm sure you have a way around these issues but my curiosity has me rethinking what could be done. Completely trouble free, once its done and set up, and reliable.

Larger engines are more streetable already. Haven't seen the issues you have I guess. The really big stuff is not something most shops should build though probably to tell you the truth. All cams are more streetable the larger you make the engine as well.
As always the cam depends on what power is desired and what heads are on the engine. We have these large LSxs with small 225-235 @ .050 cams making 600 at the wheels for example with larger LS7 type heads and they are very nice and very smooth. Now Cary has a 400 cfm cathedral port as well.

600 rwhp
what ci heads, intake, etc. does it take to get 600 rwhp from a 225 235 cam?
I am building a 427 for my 3650lb with driver, 6 speed camaro and was planning on tfs 235 and a 250's cam. I wouldn't expect it to be much over 550 rwhp. Maybe I should go a different route? Hoping to get into the 9's
