Default piston selection

I'm planning on building a N/A LS3 427 for my WS6 street only, plan on purchasing TFS or ETP heads. Has anybody had any complaints about Mahle pistons (primary concern is the skirt) for an LS3 427 stroker application? If there are any other items I should pay attention to please tell. Thanks

Mahle makes a nice piston. That is what I have in mine and they looked brand new when I freshened it up last year. I detonated pretty hard on n2o and broke almost all of the top rings and the pistons still measured and looked perfect.

Mahle,

Probably make better pistons than any other manufacturer on the planet.

I have used lots of Mahle pistons they work great you just need to take the time to de-bur them.

Thanks for the info so far, just had some whispers to run from mahle and stick with wiescos. I keep reading that you should stay at 4 inches or less stroke on stock block castings, was wondering if this holds true for a N/A build that wont get beat on much, might see track once, and the weekly WOT freeway time. The oil consumtion problems are what I keep hearing about. Durability is a big factor for me, so Iron 408/415 may be my final call. Either way TFS's will be sitting on top

I also had oil consumption issues,

when building a new block the extra expense of having it torque-plate honed with a top-of-the-line machine paid off; negligable oil usage.
