Need some help with a misfire.
Go to the track get a couple runs in and head home. I get home and as I am pulling in the driveway, I get the dreaded check engine oil display. I immediately look at my oil pressure guage and it is at 8psi and then 0psi as I am coasting in the garage. Shut down the motor and a couple days later start the tear down. Once it is out, nothing major a couple bearings worn but again nothing major.
I had already decided that since it was going to be out why not upgrade the bottom end. So I had purchased a 402 stroker kit, took the kit, that had been balanced and the block to a local race shop and had the work done there. Get it back as a short block assy. Get the rest of the motor assembled piston the valve clearanced and back in the car.
This is what was put in:
Eagle 4.00" crank
Eagle rods
Wiseco -3cc pistons w/valve reliefs(steel top/napier second rings)
243/247, .614int .614exh 113+3 LSA
Trick flow as cast heads
LS7 lifters
comp push rods
Kooks LT's
TR-7 plugs(I am running nitrous)
There was more but further down the line, such as clutch and shifter.
So the problem is I am having a misfire on 4 and 7. I have rotated the wires, changed the plugs, pulled the intake off and cleaned and rotated the injectors. But I am still having the misfire on 4 and 7.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this. I plan to do a compression/leak down check soon. Is it possible the cam install may be the cause, i.e. the position of the cam? I would think not but ya never know? Any other ideas?
I just want to get any other insight from people, would love to get the car up and running again.
