Question Oil pickup tube O ring

I have read differant suggestions as to which O ring to use on the oil pickup tube for the LS motor....I recently bought a conversion pan kit from GM and the O ring was reddish in color and .174" thick.........others have mentioned that a blue O ring #12557752 that is .134" thick should be used......makes sense that a thicker O ring would give tighter seal.............thoughts anyone??

The thick one is for the pickup tubes that have a recessed area where the O-ring fits. They are not interchangeable, do not put the thicker O-ring on the pickup tube that does not have the recessed area or you can pinch or cut the O-ring.

Gotcha...........thanks..........what kind of investment was the HP tuner set up for your motor? The LS2 I have has the 58x reluctor, I have to send the PCM out for the initial tune but would like to be able to fine tune it myself in the event of future changes............

For HP Tuners Pro, a wideband, tuning books etc, expect to drop at least a grand.

So how many o rings should be involved when installing the oil pickup back in? One on on the pickup and one on the inside of the pump? Or is it just one that goes on the pickup and thats it?

Thanks!
