Default lsx engine ( need advice )

Hi Guys

i need your advice on my friend's project :

before he used on his corvette c4:

stock ls7 engine + High lift cam + Q.F 1050 carb. + GM intake
(1/4 mile ET =9.6)

Currently his project is :

lsx 454 + stock ls7 heads + High lift cam + GM intake + Q.F 1050 carb
compression around 11.5
(1/4 mile ET =10.2)

finally 10.2 ?? is it logical ??

Right off the bat, it's odd that you lost ~10KMH with a larger engine! You should have gained trap speed, not lost any. I'd get the engine looked over, you've lost power with a 454 compared to the 427...
